‘Kappo’ written in kanji translates ‘to cut and to cook.’ Kappo style restaurants in Japan typically feature counter style seats overlooking a small kitchen where chefs prepare a multicourse meal using various cooking methods in front of the guests. ‘En’ translated to English has several meanings including ‘fate, destiny, relationship, and connection.’
